The election of June 3, 2014 proved to be a learning experience for Aurelio Mattucci. His bid for a Torrance City Council seat yielded only 3,750 votes, not nearly enough to win a seat on Council.
Campaigning is difficult, especially when you are not backed by big money Unions or Corporations. The results are in the hands of the voters, but they always seem to levitate towards the candidates with the most money and backing. In other words, you can't win an election without high power endorsements and money.
Proven point. The four highest vote getters had all the backing and money.
