Unions controlling elections even in Torrance CA
One of my fellow candidates said that he is concerned about the campaign limits in Torrance and that the amount of money rolling in from donations is just too much. He plans on lowering the campaign limits as he feels they are not FAIR.... Funny because he has more money coming in than any other candidate, he has big chunks of it coming from Unions. Now here is the other funny thing. As he would like it, basically any candidate that is not Union backed will basically have to work ten times harder to catch up to the "Independent Expenditures" the Unions usually do. The "Independent Expenditures" have NO LIMTS. So a Union can basically spend unlimited money supporting a candidate yet everyone else has to raise money little bits and pieces at a time according to my fellow candidate. Well, I say let's put a limit as to how much these "Independent Expenditures" can be and then we can call it a level playing field.
So, when voting check out who is getting funded by the Unions. And remember that every time the candidate will have to vote on either protecting your city's financial well being as a whole or protecting pensions and benefits.... Guess where their vote is going...
I will not be manipulated by any Union or special interest group. I will represent the people of Torrance as a fellow resident and business owner and not as a politician.
Together we can cure the "Politics As Usual" Virus.

Public safety and economic stability is among my priorities. I want the city to be fiscally responsible and do what it can to cut wasteful spending. I do believe in energy conservation and helping both home owners and businesses save money on utilities without imposing additional restrictions on them. I do believe we need to plant more trees in our residential neighborhoods and make our commercial areas more desirable to new business growth. We need to fill up our commercial vacancies by offering new businesses true incentives and help out our many existing and loyal small businesses succeed and not just survive. We need to be truly business friendly and not just say we are. We also need to streamline permits and plan check process to encourage new business. I do hope I can get your support and the support of your friends and family. I want to help maintain and promote family unity and the safety of all the families that live in this wonderful city.

I am a candidate for Torrance City Council. Running for office has been a long time dream of mine. I have never been more motivated in achieving this endeavor. I feel that in order to truly make positive changes in our city one must make them as a whole, work together and get involved at all levels. These are challenging times for us, as a country and as a city, with the redevelopment funds gone, we are facing the same fate as many other municipalities , loss of businesses that directly translate to less revenue for our city, loss of local jobs and more of our families losing their homes. Less revenue for the city means the potential loss of many programs, services and activities that have shaped Torrance throughout the years. It's not a matter of Right or Left, it's a matter of Right or Wrong. I will do what is Right for the people of Torrance. I will listen to your concerns and suggestions. I will be truly a public servant, serving the people of Torrance and the many businesses that help support and maintain this wonderful city that I am proud to say is my home.Tuesday, February 11, 2014

15 Candidates for Torrance City Council - Aurelio Mattucci
We have reached 15 Candidates for Torrance City Council for the 2014 election. Yes 15 individuals have filed their 501 form which is basically a form you fill out to show your intention in running for office. What I've been seeing is that many have not set up a committee, therefore they have not raised $1,000 or more. Being that we are just over 100 days away from the election, I find it hard to believe these candidates could possibly raise enough money to be in the race. I have to say that fundraising has been the part about campaigning I don't like. I'm not much of a person that can ask for money when that money isn't for a non profit children's organization or even a cancer research center. Regardless, I think I did pretty good and I know I am in the race.
If you want a candidate that is not politically connected, one that owes no favors to anyone, one that has Torrance residents and business owners on top of his priority list, then vote for me, Aurelio Mattucci, the candidate for the people.
